After years of being called a drama queen by her mother, Jessica Yingling decided to exploit this talent through her writing. Her fifth grade literary masterpiece Goldibear and the Three Locks was published in the esteemed Peanut Butter Press, resulting in her first byline. Though this first attempt set the bar quite high, she spent hours writing her own Saturday Night Live skits and then bribed friends to act them out in front of the camera.
In a futile attempt to mask her rather offbeat sense of humor, Jessica spent her undergrad years at Indiana University writing serious newspaper stories while earning a degree in journalism. After graduation, she moved to LA to surround herself with other quirky creative types.
In 2015, Jessica created Mischief Productions, a film, TV and video production company based in Santa Monica, California. After producing Anything for Love (starring Erika Christensen, Antonio Cupo and Paul Greene) and Love Under the Olive Tree at the Hallmark Channel (starring Benjamin Hollingsworth and Tori Anderson), she launched Rom Com Pictures with producer Adam Ripp in 2020.
In addition to her film and TV work, Jessica writes, directs and produces award-winning documentaries, PSAs, and promos for a wide range of for-profit and non-profit companies across the globe.
Prior to establishing Mischief, Jessica was a development executive at Arnold Rifkin's production companies, Cheyenne Enterprises and Rifkin/Eberts. In this capacity, she was actively involved with the companies’ production slates, including Live Free or Die Hard, Deception, Timber Falls, Night Train, Stag Night, and Blood & Bone.
Jessica has an M.F.A. in Screenwriting from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. Though she is now a few steps closer, she has yet to achieve her lifelong goal of trumping that first publication in the Peanut Butter Press.
